Team Formation
Seven Oaks tennis teams playing: USTA, Triangle, Capital City, and RATL leagues will be
formed by a captain. Adult Teams are not formed by the Professional Staff. Junior teams
however, will be formed by the staff and grouped according to ability.
USTA League policy
-
A captain MUST get permission to form a team from the head pro (with only 12 soft
courts - the number of Seven Oaks teams at any particular level in a league may be
limited).
-
All teams members (adult and junior) must be a current member of Seven Oaks
-
Anyone playing on an USTA team must be a member of the USTA and have a NTRP
rating.
-
Courts for the general membership and their needs (lessons & ball machines) must be
considered in addition to team matches. Generally, the number of home matches will be
limited at any one time.
-
Teams must accept the reality of playing 'away' matches regularly based on the number
of teams at any NTRP level. On days of heavy team play or rain outs, matches may be
assigned to the hard courts.
-
Singles Leagues in the Summer and Fall will be assigned to the hard courts.
All make-up matches must be coordinated through the Pro Shop with
Sue(snhardesty@gmail.com) or Kinsey(7oaks.kinsey@gmail.com). Only matches that
were originally scheduled for home will be rescheduled at 7Oaks.
-
Team clinic times will be considered equally by the teaching staff regardless of team's
date of existence
-
Teams may not sign up for a block of courts for practice, but must sign up individually.
These courts will be subject to normal "bumping" policy
-
Members interested in team play may inform the staff who will direct them to captains of
appropriate teams.
-
Team information (captains names and contact info) for the upcoming season will be
maintained at the Pro Shop.
